Refurbishment of bridge AW 72 over Winchester Road
We were delighted to see the refurbishment of bridge AW 72 over Winchester Road at the western end of Alresford recently on behalf of National Highways. This is the commencement of the western part of the former Mid Hants line west of Alresford towards Itchen Abbas and Winchester Junction, which was abandoned on the formation of the Watercress Line in 1973 when the entire route was closed by BR.
