Improved fencing work completed on Wonston Road bridge

New fencing to cover the entrance to the railway bridge on Wonston Road has been completed, improving the safety and keeping of the site for local residents and users of the Watercress Way.

Following a series of fundraising events in 2022 and with the generous support of Wonston Parish Council, the original, temporary fencing was removed and replaced with a modern, secure installation. Minor groundworks were also completed to level the entrance and improve access for future activities, including walking tours and ecological improvement work.

The site will continue to be improved in the future, with plans that include a new information board, planting of additional wild flowers and painting the fencing to protect the wood and improve its integration with the surroundings.

We would like to extend a huge thanks to all of our supporters in helping complete this work.
